Making a Personal Family Film
I was lucky to grow up with my cousins on my dad’s side just down the street and seeing my grandparents almost daily at our family restaurant. Now that my generation is older and with families of our own spread across the US and into Canada, it is now a bit more special when we have a chance to come together.
It’s hard to choose between capturing moments or putting down the camera and being a part of the moment. I made it a point to leave the camera behind on some days and then bring it with me when we were doing more traditional things- like when my dad and grandmother taught my boys how to make Kourabiedes (Greek Holiday Cookies).
Here is a family film I made that captures this brief moment in our family’s history.
